  • Overview

    Vykin Corporation is currently looking for an experienced TS/SCI cleared Desktop Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC.  We are a small defense contracting company that is veteran owned servicing the US Department of Defense.  The successful candidate will receive competitive wages, health plans and the opportunity to join a small company that still believes every employee counts.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain responsibility for multi-skilled operations, including Layer-3 networking, virtualization, systems administration, and platform support.

    • Lead junior operators and engineering staff in the coordination of engineering and operational activities and coordinate across teams to meet engineering and operational service level agreements (SLAs).

    • Perform a variety of analytical tasks concerning the design and implementation of IT services and solutions, including personnel, hardware, software, and support for facilities or equipment.

    • Plan and perform analytical and engineering research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering, and client specifications.

     

    REQUIRED:

    • Experience designing, deploying, managing, and configuring data center solutions.

    • Experience engineering high efficiency modular physical data center infrastructure to include rack space, power and cooling systems, as well as modular structured cabling systems.

    • Strong familiarity with modern data center standards (TIA-942 and BICSI-002) and best practices.

    • Experience with data center build-out projects, renovations and upgrades as well as new construction.

    • Experience with cable plant management, data center HVAC, electrical and UPS planning and monitoring, and environmental controls.

     

    DESIRED:

    • Experience as a data center manager is preferred.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • High School diploma/GED and a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience (advanced education can count towards the equivalent years of experience)
    • A minimum of three (3) years of experince with SharePoint farm administration
    • DoD 8570 IAT level II compliant (e.g. CompTIA Security+)
    • An Active in-scope TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain a CI polygraph

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor's degree in IT and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant network experience

     

    Working Conditions

    The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.  The work location is a government facility located on a military installation in Washiington, DC supporting a DoD customer.  The successful applicant will be working for and reporting directly to the prime contractor or the DoD customer as appropriate.
