  • Overview

    Vykin Corporation is currently looking for an Experienced TS/SCI cleared Next Generation Desktop Environment (NGDE) Engineer to join our team in Stuttgart Germany.     Responsibilities

    • Maintain responsibility for operating, maintaining, and sustaining an enterprise virtual desktop infrastructure environment.   
    • Provide Tier 2/3 O&M and engineering support for monitoring and management of day-to-day operations of the VDI environment, including management of license files, routing tables, and firewall configurations and monitoring of system operability through various logs, including log, admin, and cluster to ensure proper functionality is maintained within the enterprise.
    • Analyze users' requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications, analyze system requirements, and conduct virtualization design and development activities.
    • Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements
    • Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components
    • Designs, implements, and integrates software applications or performs software engineering tasks
    • Utilizes software engineering and design methodologies appropriate to the development, integration, and production environment
    • Ensures efficient delivery of software engineering capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes
    • Mitigates risks, controls costs and schedule variance, and effectively manages large scale, integrated software projects
    • Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results
    • Support system administration and engineering for virtual and physical enterprise servers.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma with eleven (11) years of systems administration experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with six (6) years of systems administration experience.
    • Dod 8570 IAT level II compliant (e.g. compTIA security+)
    • An active in-scope TS/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph
    • Must be able to obtain certification as a Technical Expert by the German Government under the Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) process.

    Working Conditions

    The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. The work location is a government facility located on a military installation in Stuttgart, Germany supporting a DoD customer.  The successful applicant will be working for and reporting directly to the prime contractor or the DoD customer as appropriate.   The above job description is not intended to be, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with this job.
