  • Overview

    Vykin Corporation is currently looking for an experienced TS/SCI cleared Next Generation Desktop Environment (NGDE) Engineer to join our team in Scott AFB, IL. We are a small defense contracting company that is veteran owned servicing the US Department of Defense.  The successful candidate will receive competitive wages, health plans and the opportunity to join a small company that still believes every employee counts.

    Responsibilities

    • Support system administration and engineering for virtual and physical enterprise servers.
    • Maintain responsibility for operating, maintaining, and sustaining an enterprise virtual desktop infrastructure environment.   
    • Provide Tier 2/3 O&M and engineering support for monitoring and management of day-to-day operations of the VDI environment, including management of license files, routing tables, and firewall configurations and monitoring of system operability through various logs, including log, admin, and cluster to ensure proper functionality is maintained within the enterprise.
    • Analyze users' requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications, analyze system requirements, and conduct virtualization design and development activities.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • High School Diploma and a minimum of six (6) years of experience (advanced degrees can substitute for their equivalent years of experience)
    • DoD 8570 IAT level II compliance (e.g. CompTIA security+CE)
    • An Active in-scope TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph

    Required skills/abilities/experience

    • VMWare ESXi 5.x or ESXi 6.x management and administration
    • Microsoft Hyper-V solutions for Windows Server 2012/2012R2 and Server 2016
    • Administering Windows Servers, including 2008, 2012, and SQL, including monitoring, troubleshooting, reconfiguring, and patching in a thin client environment
    • Citrix and/or VMWare, including provisioning and managing virtual desktops
    • Architecture design, system maintenance and patching, and advanced troubleshooting, capacity management, monitoring, and reporting

    Preferred

    • Bachelors degree in a related field and a minimum of six (6) years of experience
    • Industry standard technical certification (e.g. VCP, SCCM, CCNA, MCSA, etc.)

    Working Conditions

    The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.  The work location is a government facility located on a military installation in Belleville, IL supporting a DoD customer.  The successful applicant will be working for and reporting directly to the prime contractor or the DoD customer as appropriate.
