  • Overview

    Vykin Corporation is currently looking for an experienced Secret cleared Systems Engineer – (SCOM) to join our team in Stuttgart, Germany, supporting the Joint Enterprise Network (JEN).  We are a small defense contracting company that is veteran owned and servicing the US Department of Defense.  The successful candidate will receive competitive wages, medical, and vacation plans and an opportunity to join a small company, that still believes that every employee counts.


    CITS effort provides IT transformation and innovation on a large project, with the shared objectives to sustain and optimize mission critical operations and to provide full life-cycle O&M and Engineering support to EUCOM and AFRICOM. The candidate will maintain/improve EUCOM System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) environment by authoring custom management packs, maintaining agent coverage, and providing meaningful reports to technical teams on server performance/health.  The candidate will manage SCOM environment from end-to-end and generate SCOM events from internal and external monitoring systems where possible.  



    • A current active, in-scope Secret clearance, with ability to obtain TS/SCI
    • Must be able to obtain certification as a Technical Expert by the German Government under the Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) process
    • DoD 8570 IAM level II compliance (e.g. CompTIA security+)


    Minimum Educational Requirement:

    • High School Diploma with eleven (11) years IT experience OR, Associate's degree with seven (7) plus years of experience OR, a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience


    Required Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

    • Have experience scripting in PowerShell.

    • Have experience with other System Center products and generating events through System Center connectors.

    • Have experience working on user issues via System Center Service Manager (SCSM)/Remedy or similar ticketing system.

    • Demonstrate proficiency authoring custom SCOM management packs.

    • Demonstrate proficiency tuning SCOM alerts to meet specific technical team requirements.

    • Demonstrate proficiency automating SCOM agent installation and tracking client coverage.

    • Demonstrate proficiency creating SQL reports.


    • DoD 8570 IAM level III compliance (e.g. CASP)
    • Computing Environment Certification - One of the following certifications are required within 6 months of start date:
      • Systems Center Operations Manager, Administering/Deploying Systems Center, Administering Systems Ctr Config Manager, or any Windows Server 2016 Certification.

    Special Requirements:

    • Willingness to work flexible hours

    • Shift work may be required

    • On Call Status may be required

    • May be required to sign for equipment


    Working Conditions

    The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. The work location is a government facility located on a military installation in Stuttgart, Germany supporting a DoD customer.  The successful applicant will be working for and reporting directly to the prime contractor or the DoD customer as appropriate.
