Vykin Corporation is currently looking for an experienced TS/SCI cleared Active Directory Systems Administrator to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.  We are a small defense contracting company that is veteran owned servicing the US Department of Defense.  The successful candidate will receive competitive wages, health plans and the opportunity to join a small company that still believes every employee counts.


  • Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Active Directory domains and forests, including bare metal and virtual Windows server management.
  • Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels and ensure workstation and server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
  • Ensure data and media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations and support media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services.
  • Analyze and promote standard operating procedures and conduct routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database or library of all supporting documentation and manage and maintain domain replication, group policy objects, and domain organizational unit structure.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to monitor, alert, and report on the security and health of the operational Active Directory environment.



  • High School Diploma and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience
    • An advanced degree can substitute for the equivalent years of experience (e.g. Bachelor's degree and six years of experience)
  • DoD 8570 IAT level II compliance (or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)
  • MCSA or MCSE in Windows Server 2012, 2012R2, or 2016
  • An Active in-scope TS/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph (or the ability to schedule, sit, and pass a CI Polygraph with minimal delay)


Skills, Knowledge, Experience:

  • Experience implementing and managing Active Directory domains and forests at an enterprise level across multiple physical locations.

  • Experience with LDAP-based identity management solutions.

  • Experience identifying and resolving AD performance, reliability, and security issues.

  • Experience providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.

  • Knowledge of configuring and managing UNIX and Windows operating systems.

  • Experience managing and maintaining Active Directory and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) environments, based on Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016. 

  • Experience managing Active Directory-integrated DNS and DHCP solutions.

  • Experience developing scripted solutions using Microsoft PowerShell.

  • Experience with enterprise PKI solutions.

Working Conditions

The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.  The work location is a government facility located on a military installation in Colorado Springs, CO supporting a DoD customer.  The successful applicant will be working for and reporting directly to the prime contractor or the DoD customer as appropriate.
