Overview

Vykin Corporation is currently looking for an experienced TS/SCI cleared Web Developer to join our team in Sterling, VA.  We are a small defense contracting company that is veteran owned servicing the US Department of Defense.  The successful candidate will receive competitive wages, health plans and the opportunity to join a small company that still believes every employee counts.

Responsibilities

  • Work with, design, develop, and deploy complex asynchronous and lightweight micro-services frameworks.
  • Work with, design, develop, and actively participate in open-source libraries and technologies such as the Netflix/Twitter stack or equivalent Microservices tooling such as Service Discovery, Circuit Breakers, and Software Load Balancing.
  • Work with NoSQL Datastores such as Couchbase, Cassandra and MongoDB.
  • Design, develop, and integrate distributed caching frameworks such as Evcache and Redis.
  • Work with platforms as a service such as AWS, Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, etc.
  • Support software and web architecture development, requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and legacy systems).
  • Interact with customers and development teams to gather and define requirements.
  • Analyze and study customer requirements to determine the most effective software and web technologies to satisfy their needs.
  • Design, create, test, and maintain software and web based applications and content solutions to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Follow a formal design process using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and also adhere to laws, standards, and established guidelines for development and delivery of software and web applications (e.g., software reuse, modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, fault tolerant).
  • Coordinate the creation and collection of necessary technology components and integrate them into a coherent site design.
  • Design and develop visually-pleasing, content rich, user-friendly interfaces with intuitive navigation
  • Develop and maintain software and web development technical documentation to assist with software and web application maintenance and upgrade.
  • Provide software process management and configuration management throughout the software/web development lifecycle.

Qualifications

Required education and experience:

  • A Masters degree and a minimum of six (6) years experience as a Software or Web Developer OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 12 years of experience OR a high school diploma and a minimum of 16 years of experience.
  • An active in-scope TS/SCi security clearance.
  • Experience with Javascript frameworks, specifically React.
  • Experience using a variety of internet technologies, techniques, and tools such as graphics software applications and object-oriented languages (e.g. Java, CGI, Visual Basic, HTML, XML) to create software and web application elements such as user interface features, algorithms, animation, special effects, databases, and e- business applications.
  • Experience in integrating new software and web products with existing software and web applications in order to improve the functionality or design of the system.

Working Conditions
