Overview

Vykin Corporation is currently looking for an experienced TS/SCI cleared  Directory Services Systems Engineer/Administrator position to join our team in Sterling, VA.  We are a small defense contracting company that is veteran owned servicing the US Department of Defense.  The successful candidate will receive a competitive wages, health plans and the opportunity to join a small company that still believes every employee counts.

Responsibilities

The role of a Directory Services Systems Engineer/Administrator is to serve as the final escalation point for all Active Directory issues in the DTE Phase II solution.  The position will work directly with the Microsoft Vendor, DTF and Engineering to resolve technically complex Microsoft Server and Hyper-V issues.

 

  • Serve as an escalation point for Jr. System Engineers & Systems Administrators for all issues related to the Directory Services of the Desktop solution
  • Optimize performance and availability standards through implementing appropriate technical solutions
  • Work directly with Microsoft PFEs/Vendor, Engineering and DTF on improvements of the DTE Solutions
  • Identify issues and create improvement processes to help with the reduction of incident outage times
  • Mentor Jr. Systems Administrators and System Engineers
  • Provide On-the-Job training to staff, as needed
  • Develop and maintain documentation of all processes associated with administration of the network and duties performed by network & system administrators
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or the equivalent years of relevant experience) and a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience.
  • An Active in-scope TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph (or the ability to obtain a CI polygraph)
  • DOD 8570.01 compliant at IAT level II or higher e.g. CompTIA Security+ CE (or the ability to obtain the certificate within 90 days of hire)

Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:

  • Extensive Active Directory design and administration
  • Hand-on experience building and maintaining Window 2012 R2 Hyper-V Environments
  • A combination of a minimum of seven (7) years of experience to include the following areas:
    • Active Directory
    • Hyper-V SCVMM (2012)
    • Microsoft Server (2012 R2 preferred)
    • Microsoft DHCP/DNS Server
    • SQL Database (2014 preferred)
    • PowerShell Scripting
    • Experience in a large, geographically dispersed environment
    • Technical documentation skills
    • Strong analytical skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Preferred

  • Direct experience with Dell Hardware
  • Citrix XenDesktop 7
  • McAfee Next Generation Firewall
  • Knowledge of Dell Networking Appliances
  • Possess one of the following certifications: MCITP; MCSA; MCSE; MCSA; MCTS 

Working Conditions

The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. The work location is a government facility located on a military installation in Sterling, VA supporting a DoD customer.  The successful applicant will be working for and reporting directly to the prime contractor or the DoD customer as appropriate.
