Overview

Vykin Corporation is currently looking for an experienced Secret cleared System Security Support (Operations Systems Administrator) to join our team in Stuttgart, Germany, supporting the Joint Enterprise Network (JEN).  This position will be required to support a shift schedule. We are a small defense contracting company that is veteran owned servicing the US Department of Defense.  The successful candidate will receive above average wages, medical, and vacation plans as well as the opportunity to join a small company that still believes that every employee counts.

Responsibilities

CITS effort provides  IT transformation and innovation on a large project with the shared objective to sustain and optimize mission critical operations and provides full life-cycle O&M and Engineering support to EUCOM and AFRICOM.

 

Daily responsibilities:

  • Work on a small tightly knit team supporting a shift schedule.Provide Tier II and Tier III troubleshooting and problem resolution for classified and unclassified Microsoft Server Operating System technologies, including Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2012 R2 in a geographically distributed environment.
  • Review, research, and apply system and application patches, hot-fixes, service packs, and security configuration from CYBERCOM and DISA STIG compliance.
  • Provide operation center coordination of Authorized System Interruption (ASI) and
  • Preventative Maintenance and Inspection (PMI) to the command.
  • Research and implement lessons learned for unplanned system/application outages.
    Support management of Enterprise Active Directory, AD-Integrated DNS, External DNS, DHCP, and Distributed File Services.

Qualifications

Required

  • A current active in-scope Secret clearance
  • Must be able to obtain certification as a Technical Expert by the German Government under the Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) process
  • DoD 8570 IAT level II compliance (e.g. CompTIA Security+, etc)
  • Ability to obtain one of the follow environment certification within 6 months of starting:
    • Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012 – 410
    • Administering Windows Server 2012 – 411
    • Configuring Advanced Windows Server 2012 Services -412

 

Minimum Educational Requirement:

  • High School Diploma with eleven (11) years of IT related experience OR,
  • Associate's degree in IT field with seven (7) plus years of IT related experience OR,
  • Bachelor's degree in IT with 5 (five) plus years of IT related experience

Required Skills:

  • Experience in Tier III support of core Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Server 2008R2, Server 2012 R2, DNS, DHCP.
  • Experience with ticket tracking systems for server, and services outages and provide incident and problem management solutions.
  • Experience with prioritizing and triaging request for services to the supporting technology teams.
  • Experience with completing routine interpretation and implementation of related DISA STIGs and CYBERCOM TASKORDs to enhance the security posture of the environment.
  • Experience with managing physical and virtual servers
  • PKI Token configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Server 2008 R2 and Server 2012 R2 operating systems to include installation, configuration, patching, and maintenance.

 

 

Desired:

  • A current, active TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT field
  • Familiarity with the DISA STIG and IAVM process
  • Proficient with Group Policy Object, Sites and Services and other AD related functions/tools
  • Proficiency in develop and maintaining SOPs/TTPs for enterprise servers and applications.

Working Conditions

The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. The work location is a government facility located on a military installation in Stuttgart, Germany supporting a DoD customer.  The successful applicant will be working for and reporting directly to the prime contractor or the DoD customer as appropriate.
